BridgeClimb Sydney
A short bus ride down George Street or a 20 minute walk from the hotel, BridgeClimb Sydney is one of Sydney’s premier tourist attractions. Providing unbelievable views of Sydney and its harbour, there are two climbs to choose from – The Bridge Climb or The Discovery Climb. Each guided climb goes for 3 1/2 hours and will provide an insight into Sydney’s history surrounding the build of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Bridge Climb is the original climb and takes you along the upper span of the arch on catwalks and ladders. When you reach the top of the summit you will be standing at 134 metres above Sydney Harbour.

The Discovery Climb, opening in 2006, takes you along the suspension arch of the bridge, weaving in and out of the arches and provides fantastic views of Sydney and the harbour.

Sydney Harbour Cruises
Sydney Harbour provides the backdrop for a multitude of cruises around the spectacular harbour, from morning tea one hour cruises, lunch or dinner and 2 day weekend cruises. All cruises will have commentary and provide history and information on Sydney and the surrounding bays and inlets within the harbour. You will be able to see some of the most beautiful houses built in Sydney around the Eastern Suburbs such as Woolloomooloo and the Northern Suburbs such as Mosman. The cruises depart from Darling Harbour, a quick monorail trip from the hotel, or Circular Quay, a short bus ride down George Street or 20 minute walk.

Sydney Harbour Bridge
Opened in March 1932, after 6 years of construction, the bridge also known as the ‘Coathanger’, is the most used bridge in Sydney connected Sydney’s north to the city and beyond. Take a walk along the Bridge to Kirribilli (where Prime Minister John Howard lives at Kirribilli House), or walk along the foreshore of the harbour under the bridge.

Sydney Opera House
Located on the Sydney Harbour foreshore, the Opera House is one of the most spectacular architectural buildings of the world. Take a walk around the various venues within this leading performing arts centre, or dine at one of the café’s or bars at the Opera House. The types of performances you can expect to see are Sydney Symphony Orchestra, ballet, jazz concerts, Shakespeare performances and dance acts.

The Rocks
Known as Sydney’s historic old town precinct, The Rocks are located next to Circular Quay near Sydney Harbour. Take a walk down Pitt or George Streets from the hotel and you will find an array of shops, museums, the Overseas Passenger Terminal and weekend markets. Stroll through The Rocks on a Saturday and Sunday year round and you will find over 150 stalls selling clothes, food, homewares and things to pamper yourself.

A host of restaurants, bars and cafes dotted throughout The Rocks will keep you enthralled in the area.

The Rocks is home to one of Sydney’s most interesting tours, The Rocks Ghost Tour, which gives you an insight into the convict colony of The Rocks.

Stop in at the Sydney Visitor Centre and pick up some brochures and maps to start you on your journey.

Sydney Tower and Oztrek
Located in the heart of Sydney’s shopping district, Pitt Street Mall, the Sydney Tower and Oztrek experience takes you to the highest point of Sydney. It is recommended you do this tour as your first Sydney activity to get your bearings of Sydney. The tower has 3 high speed Deck lifts and it takes only 40 seconds to reach the top from the bottom. The tower has restaurants, an observation deck and a coffee lounge for your comfort.

The Oztrek experience takes you on a virtual experience of Australia’s culture through 3d holographic technology, animated models and scenic art. Experience the 180 degree cinema screen with specials effects and surround sound.

The Sydney Tower and Oztrek experience is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay
Only 3 stops from Rydges World Square by monorail, Darling Harbour is home to some of Sydney’s favourite restaurants, bars, cafes and attractions, including Imax Theatre, Star City Casino, Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife World. Walk around the Chinese Gardens outside the Exhibition Centre, have a look at the Maritime Museum, take a train ride tour and do some shopping, whatever takes your fancy Darling Harbour will have it day or night.

Star City Casino
Open 24 hours, Star City Casino is New South Wales only casino and has views of Sydney Harbour. Star City has a large TAB lounge and sports bar, Star Keno and 200 gaming tables, as well as numerous bars and restaurants. The casino caters for the casual punter to the serious players. Even if you are not a punter, taking a walk through the casino should be on your list of things to do whilst in Sydney.

Sydney Aquarium
Located in Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, Sydney Aquarium is your one-stop attraction for viewing Australia’s underwater life and its habitats. Weave your way through the underwater tunnel and embark on your journey of discovery. There are various feed times for animals such as crocodiles, seals, sharks and penguins.

Take the monorail to Sydney Aquarium and jump off at the first stop in Darling Harbour. Sydney Aquarium is open everyday except Christmas.

Sydney Wildlife World
Sydney newest attraction of flora and fauna is located next to Sydney Aquarium, opened in September 2006. Wonder through 1 kilometre of walkway through this three level attraction, with the upper level exhibits open to the elements under a mesh roof. Sydney Wildlife World features numerous habitats/eco systems providing visitors a taste of Australia, all in one location. Open till 10pm every night you can see nocturnal animals in action, giving you a rare insight into their wonderful world.

Sydney Fish Markets
The largest market of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and the world’s second largest seafood market outside of Japan, the Sydney Fish Markets auctions over 100 species daily to restaurants and the general public. Take a tour of the markets to find out what goes on behind the scenes.

Sydney Fish Market incorporates a working fishing port, wholesale fish market, fresh food retail market, food and beverage outlets, a seafood cooking school and provides visitors with an entertaining and stimulating harbourside experience.

The markets are open 7 days a week, except Christmas Day, from 7am.
